Product Description

Appearance

A special feature of the Vienna Philharmonic is the smooth edge. Another feature is the edge bar, which provides stability and improves the stackability of the coin. The edge bar also protects the motif from damage.

Motif side

The Silver Vienna Philharmonic is dedicated to the famous Austrian Philharmonic. On the motif page some instruments from the internationally renowned ensemble are shown. Among them are two violas, two violins, a harp, a bassoon, a horn and in the middle a large cello. Around the outer upper edge of the coin the inscriptions read "Wiener Philharmoniker" and the metal "silver".

Value side

The value page shows the organ from the large hall of the Wiener Musikverein. Below the organ is the balcony, which extends to the edge of the coin. Imprinted on the value side of the coin are the official nominal value of “1.50 euros”, the year, the weight "1 unze feinsilber" and the country of issue “Republik Osterreich”. The motif was created by the chief engraver of Münze Österreich AG, Thomas Pesendorfer, and has not been changed since the first edition in 2008. Only the year on the value side changes.
