Product Description

The current "Snow Falcon 1.5oz Silver Coin 2016" is a collector coin and bullion coin produced by the Royal Canadian Mint. The Snow Falcon has a fineness of 999.9/1000 and a fine weight of 1.5oz. These are beautifully designed, high purity coins with a unique size. The Royal Canadian Mint is known for depicting animal themes that highlight the diverse wildlife in Canada. The 2016 Snow Falcon 1.5oz silver coin is a representation of the vastness of the Canadian Arctic. The Snow Falcon is able to fly at high speeds because of the shape of their wings. This is another spectaclear coin with an animal theme from the Royal Canadian Mint.

The "Snow Falcon 1.5oz Silver Coin 2016" is not the first silver coin from the Royal Canadian Mint with a fine weight of 1.5oz. In 2013 the Royal Canadian Mint issued the Silver Polar Bear, in 2014 the Arctic fox and 2015 the Polar Bear and Cub.

These 1.5oz silver coins are not part of an official series by the Royal Canadian Mint, such as the "Canadian Wildlife" or "Birds of Prey" series. However, all three coins highlight animal themes from the Canadian Arctic.

They are also popular choices for collectors because of their limited issue. These coins are a nice addition to any silver coin portfolio.

The silver coin has an edge bar and a rippled edge. The rippled edge is a standard feature as it makes physical changes on the coin edge visible immediately. The edge bar provides stability, while improving stackability and surface protection.

The front shows a motive of a snow falcon in flight. Below the fineness of 9999 and the initials "SH" for artist Sandra Hanington can be seen. Since 2015 she holds the title “Master of the Mint”. Below the motif is a safety feature in the form of a small maple leaf containing the year "16". The laser engraved year is only visible under magnification. The motif is surrounded by an outer ring that contains: Country "Canada", year of issue "2016", metal "Fine Silver Argent Pur" and the fine weight "1 1/2oz."

As with many coins from the Royal Canadian Mint, the back depicts an image of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. In the background are radial lines, which serve as an additional security feature. The caption reads "Elizabeth II", "D G Regina" and the denomination of "8 Dollars".

Buy VAT-free

Most silver coins are subject to VAT in Europe, which makes the purchase of physical silver coins unattractive for many investors. However, in 2013 CelticGold established a branch in Estonia, which is the only European country that does not charge VAT on legal tender silver coins.

As a result, CelticGold Estonia is able to offer VAT free legal tender silver coins to customers. Once purchased the silver coins can then be shipped fully insured to any country in the European Union.

CelticGold also offers customers the option of securely storing silver through a third party, high security, fully insured, state of the art vault. To learn more about buying silver through CelticGold Estonia, please click on the link below.
