The motif side of the coin depicts the famous Canadian Maple Leaf that is recognized all over the world. The the small micro-engraved maple leaf is located just below the main motif. The last two digits of the year are imprinted in the small leaf. The light-diffracting radial lines can be seen in the background.
On the top outer edge of the motif side is the country of origin “CANADA”. In the lower margin is the fine weight and metal which is inscripted as “FINE SILVER 1 OZ ARGENT PUR”. The purity of “9999” is embossed on the left and right in the center.
The value side depicts the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by artist and engraver Susanna Blunt. The inscriptions around the outer edge are the name of the regent “ELIZABETH II”, the face value of “5 DOLLARS” and the year of issue “2019”.
