Website and Technical

I can't access the CelticGold website

Obviously if you can't access the CelticGold website then this information here is not of much use at first.

But we would like to explain why websites may not be accessible at times.

1) Your internet provider may be down

2) The hosting company where the web servers are hosted with gets technical upgrades or is temporarily down. Although technical upgrades go 99.9% unnoticed it can happen that websites are not accessible for a short period of time.

Should something major happen with the hosting company (for example servers burn down) then the website may not be accessible for an extended period of time.

3) A gateway between countries broke down

This can happen at times especially if you access a website which is not hosted in the country you are accessing the internet from.

4) Spam and/or Malware on your computer blocks certain websites

Computers pick up certain Spam and/or Malware that may block websites. It's best to do regular scans on the computer to be sure to not have any malicious software.

CelticGold hosts with Hosting Europe a reputable German hosting company and we have external security scans with McAfee running daily to protect both our website visitors and our website from malicious and spam software.

5) The Website experiences hacker attacks

The systems in the meantime are pretty safe (when set-up in the right way) and passwords can literally take centuries to be hacked.

The modern way of causing damage and harm to a business and website are the so called "DDOS" attacks. These attackes are globally organized and what basically happens is that, for example 10 million requests to the website are being sent simultaniously.

The webserver who receives and handles the requests simply shuts the door due to too much traffic.

Imagine an entrance door where 1,000 people want to go through all at once - it's impossible and no one would get through.

This is what can cause the website to react slowly or go offline completely.

Where is the hosting company located?

CelticGold hosts with Host Europe a reputable German hosting company.

The CelticGold website looks strange - What happened?

When you browse websites temporary internet files will be saved locally on your computer. These files contain usually graphics, pictures, etc. to speed up the browsing experience when you will access the website in future.

When programmers fix bugs, amend some feature and deploy upgrades these files on your computer do not match the current set up of the website.

Should you experience anything strange in functionality, design and behaviour the very first fix is to erase your Cookies and Temporary Internet Files; this operation is also called "Deleting Browser Cache".

You do this by opening the Browser Settings Tab on your computer. "Google" how to erase Cookies and Temporary Internet Files for your browser and operating system should you not know how to do this.

After deleting the Browser Cache you re-load the website. The problem should be fixed then.

If the problem is not fixed: Please contact us with a detailed description including browser name and version so the programmers can look into it.

The website reacts slowly

Sometimes when a lot of users access the website at once, browse products, read articles and order products the server has to handle more than usual.

The technical team monitors the server load 24/7 and they insure that enough capacity is available at any given moment.

If the website reacts slow it may be linked to theses factors:

1) Your internet provider is currently slow

2) If all webpages you try to access react slow then your computer may be infected with malicious software

3) The website experiences DDOS attacks

The Checkout doesn't work

Should you experience difficulties checking out: For example the checkout doesn't refresh after clicking the shipping or preferred payment option.

This may be linked to:

1) Invalid Cookies - Delete your browser Cache and re-load the site

2) Old(er) operating system and browser.

With the last upgrade in layout and features the programmers have implemented the latest mobile responsive technology. Please update your browser to the latest version; the website seems to run best with Google Chrome, Safari and Firefox.

3) A bug on the website

Although the technical team monitors the website and servers 24/7; bugs can appear out of nowhere. This is simply the nature of the systems.

CelticGold does everything humanly possible to insure a smooth and functioning order process and if a bug appears we really appreciate your help.

Sometimes different devices (for example iPad, iPhone, laptops, windows PC's) cause different issues in different countries with different language settings and browser versions.

It is impossible to test all combinations; so if a bug appears we value your time in reporting the issue to us.

When reporting an issue please send us a detailed info containing:

- Device you experienced the issue

- Operating System and Version

- Browser and Version

- What did you exactly do when the issue popped up?

- Screenshot showing the problem if possible

Please email us the info to: info (a) celticgold.eu

Thank you

What happens if my CelticGold.eu account gets hacked?

We highly recommend that only strong passwords be used, containing more than 8 digits, small and capital letters and special characters. You should keep your password private at all times.

Before the vault executes a shipment out of your Vault the process undergoes multi-level authentication such as address verification.
