The Koala silver coin was first introduced in 2007 and is one of three silver coin programs from the Perth Mint. Each year features a new Koala design, which adds to the global appeal of the series.
The 1 kilo Koala silver coin is the largest weight in the series (32.15 oz) and has a fineness of .9999 silver.
The 2019 Koala 1 kilo silver coins has a face value of 30 Dollars and will have an unlimited mintage.
The new design for 2019 features a Koala sitting in a eucalyptus tree. The inscriptions around the outer edge are “AUSTRALIAN KOALA” and “2019 1 KILO 9999 SILVER”. The letter “P” can be seen on the right side and represents the Perth Mint.
The value side shows the right side profile of her majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The Jody Clark design depicts the queen wearing a royal diadem, earring and necklace. The engravings include “AUSTRALIA”, “30 DOLLARS” and “ELIZABETH II”.
