The Kangaroo Gold coin is one of the few legal tender gold coins that feature annual design changes. However, the main motif will always depict one or more Kangaroos in the natural environment.
The 2019 Kangaroo 1 oz Gold coin has a purity of 99.99% gold, a face value of 100 Australian Dollars and will have an unlimited mintage.
The Kangaroo gold coin is produced by the Perth Mint, which is one of the highest quality mints in the world.

The new design for 2019 depicts a Red Kangaroo sitting on a grass hill. The natural environment behind the Kangaroo includes two trees that bend along the edge of the coin. The background features a rising sun against a smooth finish. The inscriptions along the outer edge include the name of the coin “AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO”, date of issue “2019” and the fine weight and purity “1 OZ 9999 GOLD”. The letter “P” can be seen just above the grass hill on the left side and represents the Perth Mint.
The reverse side shows the new portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Royal Mint engraver Jody Clark. The Queen is depicted with royal crown, earring and necklace.
