The 2019 Australian Emu 1 oz Silver coin is the second edition in the series. Produced by the world renowned Perth Mint in western Australia, the 1 oz Emu silver coin for 2019 will have a limited mintage of just 30,000 pieces. The design by Natasha Muhl is very detailed and shows the two Emu’s on a rocky landscape in the Australian outback. The Australia Emu silver coin is 999.9/1000 pure and comes in original plastic capsule.
The emu is the largest native bird living on the mainland in Australia. Emus cannot fly but can run up to 60km/h. The emu is one of the national symbols of Australia and was displayed next to the kangaroo on the coat of arms holding the shield. Both animals are meant to represent the progress and forwardness of Australia, as they can not move backwards.
Due to the limited quantity and attractive design, the Australia Emu 1 ounce silver coin is considered a semi-numismatic coin and therefore may appreciate in value. The Silver Emu is ideal for collectors and investors. For more information on semi-numismatics click here.

Two emus in the Australian outback grace the motif side of the coin. Especially nice about the design is the detail of the landscape, which shows the rocky terrain and sparse vegetation of the outback. Surrounding the top outer edge, in an optically offset frame, is the name of the series "AUSTRALIAN EMU". On the right border area is the letter "P", which represents the Perth Mint. The year of issue, fine weight and purity "2019 1oz 9999 SILVER" are displayed in the lower part of the coin.
The reverse shows the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II with crown, necklace and earring. The portrait was designed by Jody Clark. The inscription surrounding the outer edge shows the name of the regent "ELIZABETH II", the country of origin "AUSTRALIA" and the denomination of "1 DOLLAR".
The Perth Mint is famous for its outstanding designs, which depict the natural landscape of Australia in a very realistic and detailed manner. Popular motifs have included the Kookaburra, Koala, Kangaroo, and Birds of Paradise, which are represented in their natural environment. Perth Mint coin series are often found in the field of semi-numismatics, due to the extraordinary designs and limited mintages. The Emu is one of the Perth Mints newest silver coins series.
