The 2019 American Eagle Silver coin depicts the famous Adolph Weinman “Walking Liberty” design that first appeared on the “Walking Liberty Half Dollar”, which was minted from 1916 to 1947.
The silver content, weight and purity are certified by the US Mint. The coin is also recognized as legal tender in the United States with a face value of 1 Dollar.
The American Silver Eagle is produced at US Mint locations in Philadelphia, West Point and San Francisco.
The Walking Liberty design depicts a full profile view of Lady Liberty with an American flag wrapped around her shoulders. Her right arm is outstretched and she holds olive branches in her left hand. The rising sun can be seen emanating in the background. The engravings read “LIBERTY”, “IN GOD WE TRUST” and “2019”. This is one of the most beloved American coin designs in modern times.
The value side depicts a Heraldic Eagle with shield, designed by American Sculptor and engraver John Mercanti. The Eagle holds an olive branch in its right claw and arrows in the left. The Eagle also carries a ribbon in its beak with the inscription “E PLURIBUS UNUM, which translates “out of many, one”.
Above the Eagle are 13 five pointed stars, which represent the 13 original colonies. Surrounding the outer edge of the coin are the words “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “1OZ. FINE SILVER - ONE DOLLAR”.
